One of my favorite categories is the American Guides Series category.  Below I have listed the Guides I have found where the complete text is available in original format from free locations on-line.   The sources I have used are Google Books and the Internet Archive.  Some state guides have two links, one for each source.  The Google Books format are usually easier to read on-line whereas the Internet Archive has pdf download available for most guides.  There are several states I have not been able to locate on-line, if anyone has found a location for any guides including city and county guides let me know and I will update the list.

OMG!  Bruce, that is awesome!!!  I definitely want to add it Wayward.  I'm wondering if I should create a new part of the info section of Wayward that is specific to categories.  It would have database and info links (or link collections like this one) that are specific to different categories.  Then if someone has a good resource I would have a specific place for it.

That'd be pretty cool.  Just create a page for each cat that you have specific info for, and then add links.  In the case of this, the page is practically done....:)

No doubt!  All I have to do is use my page template and copy his html into it.  That's my kind of webpage.

I've been finding some really good historical information on books.google.com. For example, I was looking for information on who created a civil war monument, and I found the information on the G.A.R. unit that had it built in an obscure civil war book.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to put in the posting instructions links to a place (like wayward waymarking) where you could find some obscure information?

The New York State guide can be found at http://madeinatlantis.com/new_york/index.htm. It only has the city guides, so no tour information. It also doesn't have page numbers either.

The site listed by Rayman coupled with http://books.google.com/books?id=g9o0AAAAIAAJ&pgis=1 which is a snippet view of the New York book will give you the page numbers and the content.  Take the location mentioned in Rayman's source and do a seach of the term in the Google source.  You will be given a snippet of the quote along with the page number.

I should update this tread.  I have them for all states except Alabama and Washington DC.  A few others that I would like to find are the ones for Death Valley, Puerto Rico and Lincoln, NE.   I will try to update this thread in the next couple days.
