    Sesame Street

The Moomin idea triggered this category idea.  Sesame Street is certainly global, and it's been a huge influence on millions people from the youngest child to people who are now well into middle age.  And probably their parents as well.

Alternately, maybe a broader Muppet category?  Or even Jim Henson?

    Re: Sesame Street

With either the Moomins idea or this concept, I will actively argue for a permanent location and not just a temporary "sighting."

When a waymark is posted, I want a fighting chance on visiting it.  I do not want a shopping mall appearence or a traveling museum exhibit.  A seasonal theme park where the characters are based is acceptable.

Personally, I would suggest people looking at starting something like this - be it Moomins, Muppets, Hannah-Barbara characters, or superheros - start considering adding this idea to Photo Goals instead of starting a new category especially if they think temporary sightings will be the majority of the submissions.

If it doesn't have a visitable location it should be a photo goal rather than a waymark category.

I am thinking permanent locations -- statues, murals, theme parks, museum exhibits

Kermit: "I like the general idea, as long as permanent locations are required. Do you think there would be enough permanent Muppet-related locations to meet the prevalence requirement?"

Jim Henson: "I don't know. Let's ask dinoprophet what he thinks!"

    Nice!

I really don't know.   There's that one (if it's Muppet/Jim Henson).  There are at least three operational Sesame Street theme parks in the world, at least one Muppet ride in a non-Muppet park, some Henson museums and many permanent exhibits in other museums.  I imagine there are loads of statues and playscapes.
