Unless dtrebilc is taking the "Imaginary" part of the game a little too literal.

That looks like a very fine cow. It is good that the fence is wood and not steel.... that cow would have its tongue stuck like a kid licking a flag pole in the cold. dtrebilc name your imaginary category.

The new category is gatecrashers...
people or characters in a public place that is named after a different person or character
Enjoy

Here is another cow: Amy's FarmBut, I'm really confused about the new category. What is named after whom? Could you clarify?

Re: Forum Game - Imaginary Category Game
I think he is looking for something like a statue of Abraham Lincoln in a park named after Ulysses S. Grant.
Not like THAT would ever happen. Nope, I cannot think of a place where I could find a Lincoln statue in a "Grant Park." That would be just plain silly... getting all your US presidents mixed up like that.
[pressing sarcasm button... now!]

cdisme has described it perfectly - and I wouldn't be too sure about Presidents getting mixed up :)

That is easy for you to say. Find some US paper currency that you might have laying about the house. Pull out one where it has an Abraham Lincoln and another which has a U.S. Grant. Compare them side by side. Not much difference between the two.
Both have bearded presidents
Both from the same general era
Both are green
Both are the same size and shape
Both have the number 5 on them
And now the differences...
One has a zero after the 5. That is about it for differences.
[and I am still in a silly mood]

That could be an expensive mistake, but for the imaginary category they would have been found in the same place. :)
All you need to do now is find one in a place named after the other.
Good hunting.
Oh and by the way just be careful when you spend your money in dark places like discos, then you might really be sorry you didn't check out that pesky zero !

Re: Forum Game - Imaginary Category Game
This one seems to be harder than I expected,
there has been an example in very recent times.

No, it is not hard. In fact, I really like this concept. Very original.
Some of us who hover over computers all day are allowing others to play. I have already named mine. Anybody who has visited Chicago knows exactly where to look.

I think I'm going to let you claim this one.
I originally thought Lincoln in Grant Park was a theoretical example rather than a real one.
The one I was thinking of was http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMD9TG_Lincoln_in_Washington_Square_Rochester_NY
Lincoln again ! is there a common theme here?
The question is which came first the statue or the park / square etc
I've just posted one where the park came to be named after the person who unveiled the original statue - who's gate crashing who ?

Re: Forum Game - Imaginary Category Game
For the record, this Lincoln statue is located in Chicago's Grant Park which is, indeed, named after President Grant.
My new category is very easy and one of my least favorite waymarking concepts - "Ustabee Not Here."
I am looking for historical markers describing a site no longer in existance (but it used to be or " Ustabee"), AND the marker is not at the actual site.
So it is a historical marker not physically marking the historical site of something that isn't here anyway.
To make matters worse I am placing a minimum distance restriction. The distance between the marker and the site must be at least 0.2 km or 660 feet.

Re: Forum Game - Imaginary Category Game
A 1/2 mile is very good, but I can do much better - 1.25 miles for what is described as a ghost town. I drove to the site, and could not find any structures whatsoever. Just long-horned cattle.
How many waymarks did you have to reject to find that one?
Anyway, what is your devious pleasure this time around, Bruce?

Re: Forum Game - Imaginary Category Game
Well my cows went well last time so lets go with real sheep. I want waymarks with real nice woolly sheep.

I mean, where else better to find sheep? Working on plans for our three-week English Camp. The camp theme is Space Science, so my new category is "Clair de Lune." Waymark showing the moon. The real moon, Bonus points for a full moon. If this proves too difficult, we will open it up for representations of the moon in sculpture, or painting. (But, not Moonims). Shine on, harvest moon.

Re: Forum Game - Imaginary Category Game
Will this do? I thought it was a cool pic of the moon while we watched a football game.
