    ssssssllllllloooooowwwww e-mails?

Is anyone else experiencing extremely slow e-mails confirmations?

    I submitted a waymark 12/22/2007 7:25:52 PM

It was aproved 12/22/2007 11:14:00 PM (I know this because I'm an officer of the group)

I received the SUBMITTED e-mail on 12/24/07 5:53 PM (almost 2 days later)

I'll keep you posted if I ever receive an APPROVED e-mail.

I'm not sure if it's Groundspeak or my mail server.  Maybe the e-mail sorters are out buying last minute gifts? Wink

Oh, and this isn't the only one.  It's just the only one that I actually looked into.

The servers are taking a Christmas break.

    Re: ssssssllllllloooooowwwww e-mails?

I receive notices that my Waymark have been submitted however I have not been receiving notices that my Waymarks have been accepted.  I miss those little notes with the acceptance notices--"Thanks" to ones that are more prolific.

I just approved of of yours.  I put the date time in the approval message. Big Smile

Yep, this happened to me too a couple weeks ago. I received the approval notice a day or day and a half before I received the submitted notice. The offending waymark was WM2QWN.

Yep, same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago also.

I just click on "My Waymarks" to see if it has been approved. Some Waymarks, I never do receive a Submitted notice, and some I never receive an Approved notice.

I do enjoy reading the comments made by some approvers.

    Thanks BruceS,

Your approval came through in record time:

E-mail received at 12/25 @12:52 AM (EST), you approved it at 11:20 PM (EST), but I never received a submission confirmation.

Following that at 2:22 AM (EST) I received a group vote notice from Saturday 12/22 @ 7:53 PM, and never got to vote in.

    Something is broken.

I received this automated message from Waymarking.com Friday, December 28, 2007 2:25:12 AM.:

This is a short note to let you know we have received your new waymark
    submission: 'Diamond Gulch, Idaho'.
This waymark was approved three days ago.
I am receiving emails in jumbled order. Or not at all.

    Re: ssssssllllllloooooowwwww e-mails?

Yep I had them all once or thrice upon a time.

I did get one of those votes that got approved that I did not vote on too.

    Slooooooooooooooooo sometime nooooooooooooooooooooo.

I have had more trouble with the submission itself hangin and having to do it all over again.

It gets frustrating sometimes and have used examples here and just do basic entry and save to submit later and it seems to work better.

    Re: ssssssllllllloooooowwwww e-mails?

I thought maybe it was just slow with an influx of submissions over the holiday but I have been trying to add waymarks to the Kentucky Historical Markers for three days and have succeeded in getting on to take. I keep getting a Server  Application Error. I can't even save basic info then go back and try again. Hmmmm......I have also had about 14 Kentucky Historical Markers in since Thanksgiving and they haven't been approved or denied. I have a feeling officers aren't getting notifications that things need to be reviewed.

    Re: ssssssllllllloooooowwwww e-mails?

Just a little something that I recently discovered - when you enter all of the information, hit submit and then get the server error the information isn't necessarily lost.  What you have to do is open a new window go to "my waymarks" and you will find it listed there as the last waymark entered.  Maybe this isn't new to anyone, but it was a happy surprise when I tried it and it worked this last week.

Yes I recently discovered that option as well.

I have also used refresh and got it back, and lost it as well.

I just keep trying till I gettr dun.

But it does get frustrating and I tend to post less Waymarks when the site is acting up.

    Re: ssssssllllllloooooowwwww e-mails?

When waymarks are sent for Group Vote they are getting declined or approved on the vote of only one member of the group.  It is supposed to be a Group Vote not a Waymarker vote.  I think that it is occuring because not all of the members are being notified in a timely manner.

I noticed that last night when I posted two to Worldwide Cemeteries, but I have to wonder if it really did go through. I didn't get a confirmation email and the waymark I submitted right after it (which went through smoothly) has already been approved. Unless the folks in Worldwide Cemeteries are just picking and choosing which ones they're looking at, I have to wonder if my first one made it through to them. (I guess it could be in review since one of my photos wasn't the greatest.)

If anyone from that group is reading this, please take a look to see if "Pataskala Cemetery, Pataskala, Ohio" is in the review queue. Thanks! Smile

If in doubt that it went through click in "My Waymarks", find the listing for that cemetery.  Click edit if you sent it then it will display in a disabled state.  You can then cancel submission and resubmit, though that should not be necessary.  If it is not disabled look on the top to see if it is listed "Not submit to group" or something like that.  if that is listed then submit it.

I've noticed this too Rose. The voting process is definitely broken. A Hidden Mickey waymark I sent for vote got approved, and there were 2 "nays" and 1 "yea"! Over in BQ's Photo Goals, something got approved with only 1 "yea" vote.

Now I'm noticing that no images are showing up anywhere, and got a message saying the image server is down. Did Signal go on vacation for the holiday? Wink EDIT: Image server is fixed.

Thanks, BruceS. That seems to have done the trick. At least this time I got a confirmation email. We'll see if it actually gets approved Wink

    It's not complex it's Comcast's fault.

At least that's what the Groundspeak folks are thinking.

I really wish we had competition for cable around here.
