    Waymarks in a Geocache

"Murder and Mayhem"  GC1AEZT is my experiment to incorporate Waymarks into a Geocache.  The Geocache was just published so it will be interesting to get the feedback on the concept.  Has anyone else been successful in combining Waymarking and Geocaching?

I made waymarks clues on a multi cache. Now one visited them. Even when I emailed the geocachers telling them, they still didnt visit (and they had photos) more than they needed for a visit to that category.

Nicely done.  It will be interesting to see how many visits the waymarks get.

My first thought was that you should have links to all the waymarks to make it easier to find the correct pages, but the more I think about it, giving someone a chance to navigate on their own around the website is probably better to get them familiar with the concept.  Well done.Big Smile

I thought about putting in the links but I wanted geocachers to explore the waymarking web site.   And waymarkers to explore a geocaching web site perhaps.

I have a puzzle cache GC1391P that requires the cacher to get a couple of waymark codes from two waymarks that I created.  The objective was to search around a few waymarks categories that I've posted with the objective of dragging a few more into the game in Calgary.

    Re: Waymarks in a Geocache

Since we now have "WHERIGO CACHES" which blend Wherigo and Geocaching, there is no reason why we cannot also have WAYMARK CACHES.  There likely won't be a special icon for them (boo) but since WM's are virtual in design they serve well as Stages of a Multi-Cache.

After my 100th cache listing (I'm at 99 now and reserving #100 for an event) I am thinking of making a challenge cache that requires people to log visits to some of my waymarks in order to log the find.  This would be a mystery caches since it is using "additional logging requirements".

I also have a plan to take people to 12 of my favourite waymarks as a multi-cache and when they find it I would write to them with a list of all of the waymarks they could also claim.

Jake39 has a geocache that uses 4 or so waymarks, I hope he chimes in with his expertise.

    Cool BQ

You rang "Sir" ?  Big Smile

Thank you Len Cullen Formerly "Cullen Gardens & Miniature Village" now a Town of Whitby Park.

(Been hard to get Geocachers to play the game.) Some wrote as late as this winter saying they never heard of WAYMARKING before and didn't have a clue how to use it.)

GC10PZR "Waymarking on Dartmoor"   is an example in the UK, from Brentorboxer, who is (probably) the UKs most prolific waymarker.
