    Finally Got A Grid Bingo

Several people thought I was trying to avoid getting bingo, finally I went and did it.  Last weekend I went out and added the waymarks necessary for five bingos.  10 A diagonally down to 29T,  Row 24,  Row 26, Row 27,  Row 31.   Also filled in 3 "floating bingos" those that are vertical more than 20 consecutive in column  but don't reach the length  11 F down 24 spaces,  13 G down 20 spaces, and 13 down 21 spaces.  It was a good weekend.

I will probably have to take a road trip to get any more, hmmm where do I head next.

The UK? Smile  Great job, Bruce, from someone who thought you were avoiding Bingos.

Re: Finally Got A Grid Bingo

    I believe BruceS now has:

    The most Waymarks

The most Categories with a Waymark created by him

    The most Bingos

The most (& only?) Diagonal Bingos

Do you like to play Blackout Bingo (covering all 25 squares)?  BruceS has two – 21F-J to 25F-J and 26F-J to 31F-J. He also has two more Blackouts that only require one more square each.

I won’t go into each Category that he has the most created Waymarks.

Way to go BruceS. You are what we all aspire to be.

Re: Finally Got A Grid Bingo

Could somebody define "grid bingo" for me?  I think it's 20 in a row, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally, but that's just from context.  People seem to have a clear idea of what it is; thought I'd ask.

Re: Finally Got A Grid Bingo

Yes, your definition is correct. The idea of a bingo was floated after the grid became available and this thread hashed out the various thoughts on the subject.

Included in that thread is this idea of additional bingo options:

Mega Bingo = 10x10 grid of visited categories Super Bingo = 5x5 grid of visited categories.Regular Bingo = 3x3 grid of visited categories.

Re: Finally Got A Grid Bingo

Well, on my 60th category visited, I got...um....3 in a row.  I guess it shows how bad probability intuition is that I find this surprising.  I haven't really been trying for bingo, just more categories, so this is more or less random.  If I do welcome signs (I know where one either Salme or I will waymark at some point), I get 4 in a row.   20...that seems a long way off.

Re: Finally Got A Grid Bingo

Well I was really excited to finally get a 3x3 bingo this week....and then when I look at the grid today, some of the icons have shifted and no more bingo. :( I probably would never had noticed if I hadn't been working on the bingo and been studying that grid.  The top half looks about right, but the bottom half seems shifted. Is it common for the grid to change like that, or maybe I'm just loosing it?

Re: Finally Got A Grid Bingo

One of the new categories approved today (Kilroy was here) somehow got inserted in the grid higher up than normal.  This might get sorted out in a day or two.
