    Question about Sticker Seekers

I was going to order a sticker for the sticker-seeker game, but I'm not really sure how they work.

I am often at work and it makes sense to keep the sticker here, since it is a fixed location that has access close to 7 days a week, regardless of my personal location.

Would it be appropriate to keep the sticker at our front desk and allow people to log their visits by taking a picture of themselves with one of our life-size cut outs of Annie Oakley or Buffalo Bill?  I notice that some "teams" picture their pets, so I would assume that whatever I designate is OK?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I would keep the sticker on me. I find it more fun to get to meet the person.

    Re: Question about Sticker Seekers

Both ways work fine.  Most people choose the "I carry it with me" which really means that if you write to them they will be sure to have it handy.

Some people use it like a personal Travel Bug of sorts, such that they carry it to Geocaching events or when they are out Geocaching/Waymarking.  Should they meet other players they ask them to log a visit so that they will have a record of everyone they meet.

I would love to hear from some of the people that have affixed it to permanent items, especially those that don't move at all.

When it comes to designating, you must name it "Pahaska_1" and the sticker must be in the photo.

    Re: Question about Sticker Seekers

OK, so, let me ask this follow up (since I really don't want to innocently break some waymarking code of ethics)...

I ordered two stickers.  My sign in is Pahaska_1.  My boss is Pahaska_2.  He isn't really into waymarking personally, though.  He uses the site to look up communities when he travels and to do some research on grave and museum locations, but he doesn't create waymarks or log his visits.

Can I keep Pahaska_1 for myself, and make a sticker for Pahaska_2 that invites people to take pictures of themselves with any of our life-sized images in the Museum?

While I love the idea of meeting people, I would also really like to incourage people to visit our site because there are over 15 potential waymarks/visits all within 200 yards.  Everything from squashed penny machines to scenic overlooks; outdoor sculptures to NRHP structures.  It's great for people wanting to build up their visit logs (not to mention a pretty cool bit of history).  Plus the photo opportunites are GREAT!

    Re: Question about Sticker Seekers

Off the top of my head, if Pahaska_2 isn't willing to create an entry for whatever reason then I would suggest this solution:

Create one listing under your Pahaska_1 that details both locations.  Use the coordinates of the permanently placed item (museum) and use that as the whole default of the listing.  Add a section saying that you also carry a duplicate with you that players can contact you to make arrangements, and of course you can whip it out like one would with photos of their kids and say "Please log me" when you meet fellow GPS gamers.  For both, people should be instructed to log their visit based on their experience.

This allows you to have stickers accessible through both delivery methods under the umbrella of one entry.

I have one sticker on my car (which is also a Travel Bug) and it has my Sticker Seekers waypoint on it.  The other sticker is on the inside flap of a spiral notebook. If I ever get the opportunity for someone to log a visit to my sticker, I have one to hold....but I'd let them get by with visiting my car if they happen to see it....I'd just as soon they didn't show the license plate.
