    Miscellaneous category

I just noticed a miscellaneous category in peer review that is for places that have been turned down, or not covered in other categories.  I see this as the Walmart micro of waymarking, as it will allow us to essentially waymark anything and everything.

I think a better solution would be what was discussed by opinionate  sometime back that they would create a place to list basic information on a waymark and it would go into a "holding area".  Then others could suggest a category for them or  they could sit there until a new category was created.   Until they were moved into a category they would not be a waymark fully.

First, I don't ever shop at Walmart.

It would be nice if we could create a WM, before designating which category to put it in.  Then, when a category is created we can somehow point it in that direction and post it.

One other thought, when people find an interesting place or item, wouldn't that be the ideal time to start a new category if its appropriate?   Then there would be a place to put it.

    Re: Miscellaneous category

First let me begin by saying you get great deals at Walmart the cancerous scum of the earth.

Secondly, yes it's been talked about. And talked about. But still, there is no holding place.

With all the talk, there is definitely a need for something. The category Honorable Mention is my attempt at that something. If it passes great! If not, oh well, at least I tried to do something.

I like the idea. I have a waymark of a plaque honoring the military that quashed a communism uprising in the 1930s. Anyway it was denied by non-specific war memorials, so it remains homeless.

Maybe some of these could go in the Best Kept Secrets Category. That seems to me like a catchall category for places that are neat, but are not specific enough to fit another category.

Yes, GG, Best Kept Secrets will probably work for some, and the posters will be directed that way, but that category has has some guidelines for posting. Mainly, because the places in the category aren't well known, the poster has to leave some information out of the description and anyone who visits has to email some details about the place to the OP.

Honorable Mention, if it passes, will be, hopefully, a catch all. And like I wrote in the description, anything posted will be reviewed to determine if there isn't a category it would fit. One other thing is if it's something that got declined by another category, the Corps d'Esprit officers will try to help with getting the waymark to acceptable. Failing that then it would have a home with the Misc.

Perhaps I should have called it "Island of the Misfit Toys"...

    Saopaulo,

in your situation, I'd ask you why it was turned down and try to give suggestions on possible changes to see if it then would be accepted, then if not we'd accept it. Filed Under Misc.

Well the misc. cat failed to pass peer review. Oh well, hold on to those coords & pix, perhaps one day your ship will come in. And you can waymark the dock. At least The Lincoln HWY passed!
