Comic Book Hero - Villain category
So, of course I bought the new Batman Gotham Knight animated film DVD yesterday and watched it last night. While watching the Special Features DVD, I start thinking, "How about an Everything Batman" category? Then I think, why not all comic book heroes and villains?
I would like to see if there is interest in a 'Comic Book Heroes, Sidekicks and Villains and Independent Comic Bookstores That Sell Their Stories' category. The description (just off the top of my head) would include statues, murals, plaques, comic bookstores, [etc. - other credible things others can suggest]. There would be no limit of postings.
Let me know if we can pull together enough people to begin the approval process.
Take care, Outspoken1

Re: Comic Book Hero - Villain category
I would maybe seperate the two. One for the murals, statues etc.. and another for comic book stores. Also why only indie comic book stores (are there lots of chain ones?)

Re: Comic Book Hero - Villain category
I'd be very instered in a Comic Specialty Store category. I don't visit them much anymore, but used to work at some and even got my name, DudleyGrunt, from the owner of one.
Maybe because I worked at both a 'mom & pop' one (Comic Classics, Laurel, MD) and a managed a couple for a chain (Geppi's Comic World), I would be inclined to have it open to any store that specializes in comics.
Outspoken1, if you are really insterested, let me know and maybe we can start a group a work on it. I'm new here, but was suprised to see there wasn't already a category. I've seen there is a group that had a failed attempt at it a while back. Maybe they'd like to get together and try again.

Re: Comic Book Hero - Villain category
There is already a comic book store category. I think I am an officer.
Ok, I checked. We started a group, but I don't think it went to peer review. The leader is AWOL.
I will get this going again.
Here is the group.

That works, too. That is the group I saw (and joined). I think I'd sent a note to the leader, but never heard anything. If we can revive it and try to resubmit the category, I've got a number in our area I'll list. Besides, it'll give me an excuse to revisit.

I say go ahead with it. If the first group can't pull it together why not you? I too am in the other group, but if the leader can't be bothered to complete what he/she started, Oh well.

Re: Comic Book Hero - Villain category
We have made progress. We now have a new leader. However, he is out of town temporarily. So it will need to wait until he gets back. We will need one new officer to be promoted from the current members. This will happen when the new leader gets back.
