Feature request/suggestion: Posting in multiple categories

As anyone is well aware, a waymark sometimes fits in more than one category. Last night, I posted the same one in US National Register of Historic Places, Canada National Historic Sites and Libraries. Probably not a record, though.

I also declined to submit a second posting of a subject in the same category. Seems AM and FM radio stations in the same building should be two separate postings. On one level, I kind of agree: they are, after all, two different stations. But on another, kind of a pain to duplicate most of the information.

Sure would be handy if we could just duplicate the basic info (Name, coordinates, etc.) to make duplicate posts easier. Seems it should be fairly simple to choose the category into which it should be duplicated and have the common information copied over.

Should they ever add an extra level for 'variables' to be entered on a separate page, then perhaps 'clone listing' would be an option.  Kind of like a Waymark Clipboard, would be one approach.

    Cool BQ

I have been kinda envisioning something similar to the check box setup when one requests a Pocket Querie on the Geocaching site.

You would complete the waymark in one category, then after initial submission, an optional button would take you to a three tabbed page (similar to the three tabs when you post a waymark: 'Enter Information' 'Upload Images' Preview and Submit') or more if needed. The tabs could be something like:

    Additional Relevant Category
    Criteria and or Additional Photos
    Preview and Submit

On so many of the Waymark categories, the criteria is quite similar. Additional Photos would encompass that sometime required photo with your GPSr.

It would be up to the experience of the waymarker to learn additional cross-post categories, but once you become familar with the categories, this seems to be doable. I also feel it would greatly save on computer storage space for the folks at Waymarking.

    Just a few thoughts.

    Take care,
