I was out hiking and came across a BLM disk that marked an AP. Does anyone know what AP stands for? It marked the property line between a state recreation area and private land.

I didn't have a camera to get a picture. Can I still log it without a picture to upload?

This is the information I have as it reads from top to bottom:

It looked like the image of the disk at this URL:

It was at 6101 feet. The geocoords were N 40 47.346 W 111 24.064.

It isn't listed in the Geocaching database and unfortunately would require a photo to be listed in The waymarking category US Benchmarks.
From the long description: "This category is fairly strictly limited to disk (and pipe cap and rod) type marks (with a photograph)"

It is a Cadastral Survey boundary marker probably similar to this Forest Service mark.

This thread in the Groundspeak Forums indicates that AP stands for Angle Point. The thread also explains much more about the type of disk that you found.

I have looked through the BLM Data ans see no mark type AP.

It must have another meaning.
