    crew 153:

As Leader of my group, I cannot edit my permissions to allow me to edit waymarks. The squares for all permissions are all greyed out.

However it will allow me to edit other officers permissions.

You are correct, it was a minor oversight on my part not setting the "edit waymarks" permission for leaders from the start.  It's fixed now.

    8Nuts MotherGoose:

chestress53, watch which row you choose for that bingo. You may choose a row that has an unapproved category in it. For example - Click on the 7th square from the left on the bottom line.

The whole grid shows 495 blue or filled Category squares with 5 inactive squares. There are only 444 Categories listed when you click on "View all newest categories" That means that there are 51 unapproved (or not shown for other reasons) Categories hiding in those grids.

My closest Bingo is a diaginal missing 6 Icons. I would have to go to NJ for a historical marker. That's better than a Medieval Church.

You are right, there are unapproved categories displaying at the moment.  Should be fixed in a few minutes.

I'm having the same problem as Bruce. I attempted to post a new waymark in Recovered US Benchmarks. I enter the basic information and then clicked save and continue. As Bruce experienced I received a mostly blank page (right hand menus and page header only) with Enter Information highlighted in red.

I'm on a Mac using OS 10.4 and Safari is my browser.

Sean has found the source of this issue and says "help is on the way". Thanks for your patience.

OK now As leader of a group I can edit all of the waymarks in the Categories I lead but for those that I have edit capabilities, I do not yet have the button on the left menu as I should.

That's a caching issue I believe. I confirmed that you do have the ability to edit waymarks in the categories you lead.

Just a small warning for you guys regarding the grid: We're going to be shuffling the icons around a little in the next few days so don't put a lot of effort into bingo-type games until we confirm the icons are staying put!

Ummm.... why are you going to shuffle the grid?  Aren't they listed in order by creation date?

I can see upping it to A-Y so there are 25 across (and yes, avoiding the whole Zed or Zee debate)

    Cool BQ

I was going to report this but see it is already mentioned here. I even found one category that was not in the directory but I would have been able to post a waymark to it if I wanted.

About the grid. If I choose to ignore a certain category it would be nice if that box was x'ed out in the grid when I view it. Then I wouldn't spend time hovering over the categories grid box to find out what it is that I am missing only to see that it is a back door into the ignored cat.

If you look closely you'll see a bunch of "invisible" (unactivated) categories in the grid. Since there is nothing to stop you from never activating your category we might end up with permanent holes in the grid. To prevent this from occuring we're going to change the creation date of all categories to the date they were made visible in the directory. Also, once you *do* make your category visible there will be no going back.

    Re: Latest Update

The grid mades for a very nice summary of what categories a person has waymarks in. The one addition I would like to see is a total for number of categories the person has waymarks in. Each row has a total, could a total of the rows be added at the bottom?

I'll see if I can get Koko to create a custom "ignore" icon for those categories. Maybe a monkey with his eyes closed and fingers in his ears.

    Re: Latest Update

    Sean is publishing changes now.

    Fixed:

    • Blank page issue in the wizard
    • Confirmation emails not being sent
    • Image archive permissions for Group Officers and the waymark poster
    • Grid is now ordered by date created (date created = date activated)
    • You can no longer make a category "invisible" in the directory

Hold off playing the bingo game for a day or two just to make sure the grid is solid, but we're fairly certain it will not change from this point forward.

Thanks for the continued bug reports everyone.

    Patch notes in brief:
    • Fixed an issue with the RSS feeds which prevented waymarks from displaying properly when submitted by users with an ampersand (&) in their username
    • RSS feeds now contain images and the long description for waymarks

One minor error still remains in the rss feeds.  On the link tag it reads

    "<link>http://www.waymarking.com/user/profile.aspx.......</link>"

    It should be
    "<link>http://www.waymarking.com/users/profile.aspx.......</link>"

Currently if link from rss feed is clicked it generates a 404 error.

That snuck by us this time around, but it will go out with the next update.

I don't want to offend anyone by announcing to the world that I am ignoring them so if this was a concern maybe the monkey should only be seen by the ignorer and not the ignoree.

I ignore for different reasons. Most of my ignores are simply because the items found in the cat. are to far away but there are a few I ignore because I jsut don't like the category. I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings. If possible I like to avoidStorm.

The X'd out categories in the grid will be relative to the viewer. So if you're looking at my grid, what you see as being ignored will be your own ignored categories, not mine. I think we can all agree that your ignored categories are a private matter.

Yes I agree completly but how long until the first "who is ignoring my catagory" thread pops up...of course they won't know that they are being ignored so it might never come up. Right?Hmm

Thanks again for the info and the great update.

    Re: Latest Update

Don't know if this is a bug or not but it is odd when you first encounter it. It is a grid issue.

I have a corn maze waymark that for the last two seasons I have "turned off" by making it so it doesn't show in the directory when the maze isn't available. Last year I turned it on during maze season and then I turned it back off after the maze shut down. If the maze is not shown in the directory "turned off" it doesn't show up on the grid. When I put it back in the directory it is there in the grid. So it appears that the grid is linked to the current directory and only shows the active waymarks.

It might be that an explanation line is needed in the grid faq page so when people ask "How come my grid doesn't show in XYZ category, I posted one two years ago" they can be referred to the answer.

Does the grid operate the same way with archived waymarks? If I archived all my waymarks will my grid be empty?

One thing I noticed is that you can not archive a waymark once it has been approved.  You can only make it so it is not visible in the directory.  If you have a waymark that has not been approved you can still archive it.

Good point - I'll add this when I update the FAQ for the new update. And yes, archived waymarks will no longer show in the grid.

There are some categories that I will find a waymark for, and THEN place it on my ignore list.  They are categories that just aren't my thing and so I don't plan regularly waymarking them.  I like to see the icon in my list/grid, but like not having it in the directory or in my searches.  Are there others who use the ignore feature this way?

By having the X or icon I wouldn't be able to see the icons of categories that I have a find in but have since decided to ignore, which would be a bummer.  I would have to change how I use the ignore feature, I guess.
