    Toposcopes?

Just saw a new category in Peer Review: Toposcopes.
From the description it wasn't too clear to me how they differ from eg. compass roses, so I googled for "toposcope" and found this Wikipedia entry.
I guess creating a category should involve more effort than copy&paste from wiki Sad

And if not covered by compass rose aren't the they covered by orientation tables?

Nah, compass rose won't do it, but yeah, orientation tables has it covered. "Toposcope" sounds a bit fancier, but how many of us speak Latin fluently, I mean really.

I think it's redundant - a subset of orientation tables.  Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Yes it certainly sounds redundant, I hope folks vote that way. I have yet to find an orientation table, nevermind a toposcope. BTW, welcome to the thread Big Smile

Ironically I just submitted a Waymark for the Directional Arrow Category and then found this link only after firing off a couple e-mails to the Officers of that Category soliciting their opinions.
    - I guess your  opinions are the same as mine. (Redundant)
