The current Food Network category that is up for vote is not a revised version of this category.  I wonder why someone would submit a category for review while another is still in the works...  I have one word for that.... Classless.

The category is mine. I started a group for Food Network Location before Diner, Drive-In and Dives was started. When I finished it, the other one was up. If it had passed, I would'nt have done anything, and used that group. Is is equally;y classless to start a similar group that someone has already started?

I don't know, it appears both groups started on same date, I didn't start the group and didn't  get involved until it was already nearly done with peer review..... Many groups get started and go no where but once a category has been put up for vote... I personally would wait until that category has run its course especially when the category is being discussed with leader of the category expressing that he is willing to change.

I told the leader I was going to wait to see how the outcome came. I'm sorry if people where offended, but I was also offended that after making a category, another one with a similar theme was made. Would I be ok to make a regional coffe shop when Silverquill already has made one and put if up for peer tomorrow?

I've taken the group out of peer because of the brouhaha. Though I hope that in the future people see if there's already a group made. I know it was an honest mistake, but I was still annoyed.

It's amazing how often we see the example of "Great Minds think alike" in this group full of creative people.

I'm just catching up on the news of this thread from the weekend and I'm happy to see that there are a lot of people who support the general concept. It sounds like the idea just needs to be fine tuned. I didn't get a chance to see the "Food Network" category, but on name alone I would not support it if it was restrictive to just that specific cable network. I would like to see shows from BBC, the TV networks in Australia, Asia, etc too.  And also the same reason why I would not want it specifically tied to one TV show.  If it switches to a Food Travelogue Location category, I'd fully support it and be an officer.
