Because of the 100% vote requirement, I can't get my category (One-Room Schoolhouses) to the next step.
It's not that a officer has voted against the category, it's that one did not vote at all.
The first time was my fault, I added a Officer AFTER I sent out the Group Vote, so that person did not receive the vote notice. This time one of the officers did not vote and the vote failed... again
I'm going to try again in a few days to see if that officer logs back on.

Has this ever happened to any of you and what did you do to fix the problem?

Send out an email and remind people to vote. Explain that the last time the vote failed.

Sending an email is about all you can do I had one fail over and over because I had to many officers. OOOPs. I finally asked that each member of the team email me when they voted and suggested I would start calling for votes to dismiss officers in the category.   I also scheduled the vote in advance so that both a weekday and weekend day were involved for the vote.

It finally worked but it took time.....to much time.

What BT said.  I had a similar problem but couldn't figure out who the deadbeat was.  I sent an email out stating that a non response to the email was an acknowledgement that they were not interested in maintaining the Category.  It was a mildly controverial Category and I had some suspicion that someone was monkeywrenching the process.  Passed like a charm after that.

I did this to somebody once and felt absolutely horrible! I got the notification but then promptly forgot and never voted. I sent an apology to the category leader right away. When the category was resubmitted for officer vote, I paid attention. :)

To be honest I have done it as well. But it was when the vote was called on a long weekend and I was out of town waymarking or geocaching or something.  I made it right when I got back.


This is why I keep the initial group of any category to a minimum of officers when I create a category now. Much easier. On that initial one I had an entire roll call of officers that made it very difficult. Live and learn....live and learn.
