Aviaries Already Exists in Birdwatching Locations

There's no new experience being provided in this category. There's nothing being included that's excluded in the present category. There's nothing more noteworthy about aviaries that is not already covered in Birdwatching Locations. It's plain out redundancy.

Agreed, except that "Birdwatching Locations" also highlights outdoor venues for watching birds during migration or in natural flight.

    Think of this as:
Dairy Queen / Ice Cream Parlours
National Parks of the US / National Parks of the World
Bear or Lion Statues / Figurative Public Sculptures

    and many, many others....

Yes, Aviaries fits inside Birdwatching Locations... in much the same way that Florida fits inside the United States.

Birdwatching Locations is not so overwhelming of a category that avaries are overwhelmed and unfound, requiring their own specified category to even be noticed.

It's redundant by the very definition of what is expected to be avoided in category creation.

And again I agree with you. However, the fact that Birdwatching Locations isn't overwhelmed has nothing to do with the viability of the newly proposed category.

We went through this already with "Bears", and if we wanted to we could go through this with numerous categories.

Tsk, tsk boys (&girls) someone stepping on your Category toes? Devil
     - When I last checked I had a couple  Categories where someone had created a similar one with Waymarks in both. Big Smile

I'm a supporter of cross-posting. Just not plain out redundancy. When so many gripe about too many categories being created, you'd think obviously unnecessary ones would be stricken. And just because Bears made it through, it doesn't mean to heck with all integrity.

I'm going to have to agree with the sentiment. Should we just vote for a badly written category, because another badly written category passed peer review?

My question is what's included in aviaries. Is a zoo included? Is it one peer bird housing unit or one per zoo?
