Find Your Waymark Photos on Panoramio or Google Earth - But Not Posted by You

This person is good at posting your waymark photos on Panarimo and tagging them to Google Earth...although their coordinates are off.

WOW, He stole some of mine too. I've been putting my copyright on the photos for most images, but I get lazy sometimes. I just didn't think someone would want to steal a photo of Jack In the Box.

Bruce, Who do we contact and how? Is it Groundspeak, Google, just posting a comment on the photo?

For the ones on Panoramio  I put the comment and then clicked the button for inappropriate.  Hopefully when they review those they see the comments.

Saopaulo, There's a lot of fast food photos up and down the 5 & 101 and the Bay Area and they all use the waymarking naming convention of "Place - Street - City, State." Odds are good they're yours.

As George Orwell would say, "This is very ungood".
As a side note, how appropriate is nazi1944 for a user ID with Groundspeak?

I looked better and I found a bunch. I emailed Google (the email for copyright is http://www.panoramio.com/help/policies_legalities) I just copied the photo idea and copied the waymarking page in list form. We shall see.

It looks like the map is the easiest way to spot them.

Do we have a primer somewhere here on protecting your work?  I'd like to see one.

Re: Find Your Waymark Photos on Panoramio or Google Earth - But Not Posted by You

I was just about to have my feelings hurt that none of mine were stolen...but then I found one of mine.

Flagged it and added a few more notes. Saw a few of silverquills in O Brian Oregon in his list.

    From Panoramio's Forum Faq.
"7.4. What do I do about unsuitable images or Copyright violation?
For just one unsuitable image, click the 'offensive/unsuitable' link between the maps on the right side of the page. For a page full, or maybe an extreme image such as pornography, email questions at panoramio with a link to the user's site or image. Do not post a link in the forum.

For copyright violation, again drop an email to questions at panoramio with a link to the offending site. The user will be removed quite quickly."

Wonder how long until this user is "removed quite quickly"

seems to me that if this person recieved enough flags they would 'trash' all of his stuff....both here and there.....

Since he likes to post photos not belonging to him I thought I might steal one of his and post a link to it here.

Nazi1944  You know the Nazi's stole artwork too. Maybe that is it.

This guy is a loose nut.

Check out a few of his other online locations.

    Here & Here

Here he says he is in Colorado Springs (he's the one in yellow)

Here he says he is in Thailand

Damn it my pics are good enough to steal. I just might email him to ask him why mine aren't good enough for him. Swizzle

    gt.us:
I misread the comment on Panorama, I thought he was saying the Farkles stole his photo!

I could have worded it better. So I changed it to
    "Photo originally posted here
    http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM18NFHistoricHolly_Hotel
Please move from Panoramio, quit stealing other people's photos, and what's up with the nazi crap?"

I signed onto Panoramio (since I had no choice) as nazihunter. Big Smile

Time to write a note and get some photos dumped....someone suggested to me that watermarking might help keep this at bay.
