    Waymarking on "Facebook"

To-night while perusing different Facebook options and adding a couple names known to us 'Early Birds' this link came up. about waymarking from October 2006

    - It shows that we had problems, initially, convincing Waymarkers to submit photos and not just words.

ive been thinking about the facebook ap to display your WM stat bar. the GC app works fine.

i think the key issue is that you must be logged into WM to see someones profile--so 'facebook' can no longer access the info, while gc profiles are still public.....

I notice that Waymarking has a facebook group, but no facebook fan page.  The fan pages are actually what are useful on facebook.  Groups are great for reunions, but they get lost in the shuffle for businesses and organizations, because people have to physically go back to them to see if anything has been posted.  fb fan pages show up in our news feeds, and are a constant reminder to us.

I too really wish there was a fan page on facebook for Waymarking. Who has the authority to start one? Can anyone do that because if so, I don't mind doing it.

Don't laugh-cuz' I know nothing about Facebook, but what would be the main difference between the forums, where everyone can participate, and Facebook, where you have to have a Facebook account in order to participate?  What would be the huge advantage to Facebook over the forums?

I would have to say that for me, it's because I don't usually use forums. I used to a LONG time ago but now I have kids and a business that take up most of my time so I just don't have time for it however I am on Facebook every day. Facebook has been a great marketing tool for me and I think it could help promote waymarking as a fun activity. I hadn't really heard about it much or payed any attention to it until last month but if someone promoted it, it could get the word out about it a little more and generate more users. Just a suggestion.....

Sorry, but I just don't follow the logic.
