Is there any reason that the Google Earth button produces a KML file that does not work? I get a KML network error every time...

that depends.

where are you clicking the GE link? i believe that the main KML (all categories) on the home page (?) works.

i know my KML (on my page) and foot print work.

i believe that the KML for individual categories is broken.--it cant be that the 'file is too large', then the main KML (or mine) wouldnt work.

i dont save it, i open it to my places, then save it when exiting GE.

OH so it isn't just me.

I couldn't look at a KML last week and wondered/thought if it was my problem.I had just uploaded the most recent version of GE

I was trying to open a category with the GE button. I get a network KML error placed in seattle. I cant get the silly kml to work at all. I too have the newest version of GE.

ok we have the
'waymark footprint' (only includes my posts),
'my waymarks' KML (only posts)
and
'all waymarks' KML

suggest adding the following options:
'waymark visit footprint'
'combined post/visit footprint'
'my visit' KML
'combined post/visit' KML
