    Logging Waymarking Finds

I have been noticing lately that people who are submitting waymarks to my categories are not putting a log find in at all.  So not that its a huge deal, but they should be getting credit for their submissions but because they were also there they could be getting credit for a waymark find also.  By not listing a visit on your waymark your only getting credit as a waymark submission and not as a find.
To some people I guess this isn't as important or they just don't know to log a find on their own waymark submissions.  Just a FYI!!

    Re: Logging Waymarking Finds

I started off not logging visits on the waymarks as I submitted them.  And when I found out that it was something I should/could do it, I had too many to catch on so never really started.  If you have a good way for me to catch up on my visit logs I would appreciate it Big Smile

    Re: Logging Waymarking Finds

Not everyone chooses to visit their own waymarks.  I prefer not to, I feel like I am double dipping.

    Re: Logging Waymarking Finds

I visit all of mine.....except for the one waymarking game waymark that I haven't actually visited on location.

I do not feel I am double dipping at all. I visited it. Sometimes I visited a location while on vacation sometimes specifically to waymark the spot. At any rate I visited it.

When I first started "visiting" my waymarks it was because there was a functionality problem that wouldn't allow you to sort your submissions effectively.  The visits  worked as a workaround for the missing functionality. Most of those issues have been cleared up with the site updates but now I firmly feel that if I visited I have the privilege to record that visit in some way.

    Re: Logging Waymarking Finds

My theory is to let someone else be the first to log a visit. Of course, I guess it is a given that is the only other person to visit a Waymark is the submitter; then you know you are the FTF. Since I got in to Waymarking from Benchmarking, it just seems to be the way to do it. Once I get the e-mail that says that someone has visited my Waymark, then I go back and log it.

    Re: Logging Waymarking Finds

I didn't start out logging my own, since I didn't realize that it was acceptable and expected.  I haven't logged most of them since I discovered this....I figure that since I didn't visit the first couple hundred that I probably won't start now.  I'm still considering going back and visiting them while I have relatively few to go through.

A few that I have visited of my own are ones where I've gone back and gotten more pictures or whatever.  I also visited one of mine to editoralize a little.  I figured it was best to put my personal opinion in a visit instead of the actual description.

    Re: Logging Waymarking Finds

I just try to visit all mine.  There is no significance either way accept for my own satisfaction.  I actually visited it when i was at the waymark so I log it as such.  I am not much of a number person, in fact I am not sure how many waymarks I have actually found.
So I was just curious to know why some are and some aren't logged as visits when submitting.
