Automatically extract geotag data from pictures

Almost all waymarks require a picture to be uploaded for creation, and many require the picture for a visit as well.

Wouldn't it be nice when creating a waymark to FIRST upload the photo, and if the photo has geotag data with it that the coordinates, state, country are automatically filled out for you?

When visiting a waymark, before even  selecting the category upload the photo first, then the site could show you nearby waymarks.  So if I'm visiting a starbucks, I could take a picture, upload it to warymarking.com, and the site would tell me "There are 4 waymarks near this location: (1) starbucks (2) mcdonalds (3) ...." at which point I could select the waymark I wanted to visit.

As more phones have built in gps and camera, more are geotagging the photos automatically such as the iphone.
