yramc600:I've read through the different categories for specific wars and specific vetrans, and I'm having trouble. Pitt county NC has one memorial for everyone who's been killed in war from this county. The wars are listed, and the people are named. This goes from WWI to Iraqi Freedom. I'm sure this isn't the only memorial designed this way, I just can't tell from the category descriptions where to put it!
Thanks for all your help!
Non-Specific Veteran Memorials wants memorials that don't mention names or cover a number of different wars. Memorials that say, "Everybody in the Vietnam War" or "Everybody in Every War Ever." The category also says:
The multi-war monuments must be of a kind that are not separatable into separate categories: a memorial "walk" with bricks for soldiers from various wars would be acceptable, for example, but a memorial park with a separate monument or engraving for each war would not.
This means your waymark would go here because numerous people are mentioned and it's really impossible to divy up the memorial into existing categories.
Non-Specific Veteran Memorials accepted the burden of being non-specific, which requires them to define something that's general and be inclusion of all different forms of non-specific memorials that could possibly be out there.
Specific Veteran Memorials don't care if a specific war is mentioned or how many wars are mentioned. They only care about the person or people who are being memorialised. It's got to say, "Col. Joe Army." Specific Veteran Memorials have the convenience of being specific, which makes the category's requirements easier to understand.
