    sean and lyn:

    Hello,

I was GeoCaching today in Guam and found a disk type survey mark on the ground nearby.  I tried to look it up and could not find anything about it.  I would like to log it but dont really know what to do.  I looked at the waymarking site and just read into confusion.  I have the cords and took a picture of it.  Its on the small island of Guam so I doubt anyone has found it before.  I am in the United States Navy stationed here.  Thanks for you help.

    I sent you an e-mail.

Guess you deleted it as spam or did not get it.

Guam is a part of the NGS projects but will have to look further into the data base.

DaveD and I just talked about Guam and setting one of the GEOCAC Benchmarks there.

There are many Shell casings that were used for benchmarks there as well maybe you will run across one of them too.

This Guam FBN GPS survey and geodetic leveling campaign will provide the horizontal and

vertical integration and positional improvements required to support the diversity of GIS,

engineering, geophysical, charting and mapping applications required within the National Ocean

Service (NOS), other Federal and local government agencies, and private sector requirements.

Using the specifications consistent with the NGS Height Modernization initiative, NGS will

conduct an integrated survey program to provide positional accuracies better than 2 cm in the

horizontal and 2 cm in the ellipsoidal components.
