I wouldn't mind a queue system per say where maybe only 2 to 3 could go up for review at any time. If your group puts in #4, it gets put into queue until the peer review for one of the others completes. Either that or put it on maybe like an X-Box live like system where ever Tuesday 2-3 new categories get put up for review, with the review period ending on Sunday and then the next tuesday the next ones in line go up for review. This would slow it down some. I also think that people may put more work in categories before putting it up for review if this occurs.
Even though I wouldn't mind this type of system, I would rather we have periodic re-reviews from time to time to establish if a particular category may be fulfilling its original intent, maybe the officers are no longer around, or maybe the fact that it passed its first review but wouldn't past now just reflects how the community has changed. I have this issue with the initial categories that never went through peer review in particular. This might be a much healthier way to weed down the ever-growing categories than to just limit incoming. I don't necessarily think that just because they've been around makes the old ones any better than the new ones. In fact, some of the new ones being created I think are just as good if not better than some of the old ones and I wouldn't want to miss out on them.
