    New Zealand Historic Places

    Hello everyone,

I have started a new group for places registered with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.  This group needs some officers before it can go for peer review to become a real category.  I'm looking for anyone who is a New Zealand resident that would like to become an officer and manage the category.  A New Zealand resident is preferred, however we can accept frequent travelers to New Zealand if we do not get enough residents.  Please contact me with your details if you are interested helping manage the group.

I base most of my traveling stops on waymarks and geocaches.  While traveling in New Zealand we noticed a real lack of waymarks.  So I went ahead and marked some locations to hopefully better help the next person who is traveling and wants to see interesting sights without having to frequently search for guides or tour groups.  I wish I could have marked more, but time was limited.  We started this group because we marked some places listed with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, but no place to put them since most historical categories are for other countries.

The logo for the group is from an actual plaque that was placed on a monument in the late 1950s in a fairly remote area of the South Island.

Your help is greatly appreciated, including input on how to improve the category.  Please give detailed criticism and not short, general remarks.  I would like to have comments that I can work with whether positive or negative.

    Thank you.
