My continuing search for new and unusual things to waymark recently brought me to the subject of Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Robert Ripley was an American cartoonist, entrepreneur, and amateur anthropologist who created a cartoon strip featuring odd facts from around the world. Eventually, Ripley's cartoons spawned a series of books and even an American TV series.
Maybe this subject has been covered before and could possibly overlap into similar redundant categories like Weird Story Locations, Roadside Attractions, etc. This category would not only include persons, places, and things featured in Ripley's cartoons, but the increasing number of Ripley's Believe It Or Not museums around the world, and anything pertinent to the life of Robert Ripley as well.
