    Re: Armchair Waymarker?? - sbcamper

BruseS: Feel free to delete any visit you want. I have seen you write, "if it is obvious that there is an "armchair waymarker"". I like that.

NB! Just an importent note here: I wouldn't dream of myself visiting a waymark without taking a photo.

Actually that is not your call.... as a category officer I can delete visits on waymarks in my categories which do not have photos if my category requires a photo for visits.  I don't make a habit of it but if it is obvious that there is an "armchair waymarker" then their visits are subject to disappear.

    rose red:
E.G. Look at the map in the Waymark-description.
E.G. Take the cords and put them in "Fly To" in Google Earth.

In 2007 I tried to find this waymark using my GPS http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMHN6_Viewpoint_La_Glorieta_La_Palma_Island I couldn't find it, because my GPS sent me out on some narrow dirt roads, that I didn't want to drive on. In 2008 I found the place on a map and drove right to it and made a visit afterwards.

In Geocaching I find it more challenging finding a cache without using a GPS. Actually I think finding a cache with a GPS is to easy. Just walk in the direction of the red arrow, then you in the end will get to the cachearea. Perhaps the cache is well hidden, but that's another problem.

... if the Waymarker does not have a GPS how do they find the "... unique and interesting locations in the world"??
