silverquill:We've discussed the problems of categories with leaders and officers who haven't logged on for long lengths of time, but I'm seeing another problem of categories where at least some officers seem to be logging on, but are not reviewing waymarks.
I have waymarks in two categories that have been sitting for a week (Land Locked Boats and Specific Veterans Memorials). Both of these have leaders and some officers who haven't logged on for awhile, but there are other officers who have, yet waymarks are not being reviewed.
In the case of the Boats cat, the leader is listed as an "association," and emails to that address have gone unanswered, so I don't know what's up with that. The leader of the Vets cat has a lot of other commitments, which I understand. It would be nice, in these cases, if the officers would really be part of the team. I'm not sure why one would sign up or stay on as an officer if he/she is not willing to do the work.
Just my personal peeve, I guess. I don't think there is much to be done, but I can always count on waymarks in certain categories sitting in the queue for a long time. . . .
I'm not sure it would help a lot, but maybe they should add a third row of ribbons for number of waymarks reviewed. Of course you would want it to be only if you were the first to review a waymark. Other wise I could see getting 6 approvals for 1 waymark. Or worse, 3 approvals and 3 declines.
I felt guilty for the first three months of this year - I was so busy at work that I didn't have time to review very many waymarks. Of course, I didn't post very many either. Most of the categories that I'm an officer for have very active officers. I seem to get about 10-20 emails a day about waymark confirmations, but by the time I check, there are usually only 3 or 4 left in my queue (unless BruceS has been busy posting his own American Guide waymarks - he and I seem to be the most active officers in that category.)
