Sure would be great if Groundspeak would adopt the ISO format... I confess that I can't understand what 7/5/2009 is. And without the hanging "0", it looks messy in a list.

What's ISO format for dates?
It oughta be YYYY-MM-DD. I've taken to using that format because that's the only one that sorts properly with simple rules, like for instance, at the beginning of a file name.
And, for that matter, we should all use military time. It's stupid for 12 PM to follow 11AM. And ambiguous if the A|PM is left off.
