Would a category based on Pope or Papal locations or items be a viable category. We have one for Shakespere,  Abraham Lincoln , J.F.Kennedy ,President Birthplaces, and other notables. I have not seen one for Pope's.

Places would be same as for other important historical figures, Plaques, markers, Statues, or Items dedicated by or to a Pope, Maybe a Catholic church named for a Pope etc... "Of, relating to, or issued by a pope"

Not trying to make a "religious" category. I know most would be probabally in Italy/Vatican, but there are locations worldwide.

If I missed a Category that already exists, sorry.

    Thanks for any input!

The statues of a pope can be submitted to Religious Figures categories.  The markers may be acceptable to the Signs of History category.  The Catholic churches named after a pope would be for a pope that was later canonized and became a saint (of course the churches could be submitted to the Catholic church category and maybe to the People Named Places category).

I agree with Bruce, and he gives some excellent examples of places where they could be listed.

However, I also appreciate that these locations of Papal activity could stand on their own in a category much like other categories about people or groups (Beatlemania for example).

I'd want to see some pretty well defined criteria before I could comment further.

    Cool BQ
