As many of us have been working with Waymarking for over a year and have been through category creation, I thought it might be helpful for those new to Waymarking to get some pointers about what makes a good category description.
There are several aspects to making a category that can be considered. Let's discuss the positives and negatives of these options. This might help everyone create more uniformity and avoid some of the pit falls of making a new category.
Some of the items we could discuss are
- Number of Officers in the Group
- Amount of Variables to include
- Images and how to handle them
- Terms and words to avoid
- What the different sections are for - Defining the Waymarks of the Category, Submitting Requirements for New Waymark, Visiting Requirements for the New Waymark
- Options for your Category - Listed in the Directory or not?
- Options for your Group - Open Enrollment or By Invite Only, Emailing other Group Members, Editing allowed by Officers
