    Category proposal: Friendly's restraunts

I love Friendly's. My sister and I used to work at one. Back then we started doing something similar to this and we went to as many Friendly's as we could in our area. I would love to be able to do that and incorperate it here (if only past visits counted... oh well).

I think it would also be nice in this case to also include buildings that used to be Friendly's but now house other buisnesses.

Sure, I love Friendlys, too!  The main problem is that not only would this not be a global category, it wouldn't even be a national category since they are found only in one small region of the U.S.  I'm not against franchise categories, but they should be international franchises (best) or at least national.  Still, when it comes down to it, I'd probably vot for it, just like I'd vote for Dunkin' Donuts or Sonic.  On the other hand, Friendlys place would probably be accepted in the Ice Cream Parlor category as there are already numerous "Ben & Jerrys" and "Baskin & Robbins" stores included.

I've never heard of these.  What are they?  Where are they primarily located?

They're usually in New England and the South East.

I saw a lot of Friendly's in Pennsylvania. There was one at Fairlane Mall in Dearborn in the 70's, I don't think it's there any more, though. I think I saw a Friendly's recently in Toledo.

They are family style restaurants which I think originally sold mainly ice cream (and still do sell great ice cream).  There locations can be found here.
