What is the likelihood of including a feature for username changes?
On one hand, it would benefit a waymarker to be able to change their username without losing umpteen waymarks they've worked to create.
On the other hand, it would be a pain in the rump for Groundspeak to automatically account for an update on each of those umpteen waymarks, in addition to profile, forum, visits, and wherever else the username is representing the waymarker on the website.
Would a username change automatically affect Geocaching, since the account is shared between the sites, although, in all other ways, the accounts are independent of each other from Geocaching to Waymarking?
Obviously, such a thing requires restrictions to prevent abuse, however such a feature isn't impossible.
I was thinking about this yesterday when I was having a conversation with the mayor of the town I'm staying in this week. I was telling him about waymarking and realised that he'd be looking at a username that said "HauntHunters" - which was a geocaching team name for my family that we'd carried over to the waymarking site. While it's not horrible, I think I'd prefer people to see the username I use primarily around the web. It's consistent. I don't want to lose the waymarks I've already posted, though... so there ya go.
Thoughts?
