I was looking for a way to do a search in a single category by location without taking several steps to drill down.

I went to waymarking.com opening page and typed in my category name with an address to search around in the 'waymark search'. The search takes every word and searches on each word even if surrounded by quotes. Quotes also do not work in the category search box as well.

Am I supposed to use something other than quotes when searching?

Ultimately I was looking for a easy process (with as few clicks as possible) to explain to somebody unfamiliar with waymarking.com to search for waymarks in one particular category near their location. The search box was the most intuitive place to look but quotes do not work there.

Great idea but I have tried that.

The problem is that when explaining to a human to go to waymarking.com, enter in the category 'gluten free restaurants'. Most people will need to use the search box to do so because they will not have a direct link to the category and everybody knows to use the search button. This search will pull up all categories with gluten, free, and restaurants. It pulls up a total of 34 categories, most restaurants that are not gluten free as well as a few others.

One such category I do not want to think of when I think of eating is 'Nude Beaches' which comes up when you search for 'free'. I'd like to still have some appetite. I haven't been to any nude beaches but I'm pretty sure they have no gluten free restaurants on them. As the two categories are quite dissimilar.

It would work better if commas were used to seperate search terms or quotes were used to join search terms in the search box, that's all.  Thank you for the help.

The current search uses an or in query rather than an and. Not going to call it a bug, it is working as designed, right or wrong.    For your example it is easy, just type gluten in the keyword box and then type in city, state or zip code in the address box.  Does not always so easy but the word gluten probably won't be in any waymarks except those in the gluten-free restaurants.
