Lincoln Highway POI on the Father Road

    Hey all,

Before I resubmit the Lincoln Highway category for POI to peer review, I thought I'd let everyone know that this category is a result of not getting any response from the group running the Lincoln Highway Markers category. (For those who wonder why we need two Lincoln Highway categories) No response, then no chance of adding points of interests to the category. I think that this is really a shame.

I've made some changes to the category and it should be quite clear that no Lincoln Highway Markers with the red white and blue stripes and the big Lincoln medalion will be accepted, but rather folks will be directed to the Marker category.

Remember we have categories for points of interest along The Dixie Highway,  Ancient Traces and Roads, National Scenic Byways, Plank Roads, U.S. 40 - The National Road,  Wagon Roads & Trails, U.S. Route 99: The Pacific Highway, and  Route 66 - The Mother Road. Did I miss any? Anyway...

The Lincoln Highway, dubbed "The Father Road" by author Micheal Wallis, was the first road across North America. I believe to not have it included amongst the other historic highways would be a injustice to the Lincoln and a disservice to any potential waymarks and Waymarking as well.

Lincoln Highway - The Father Road - Points of Interest category is set up just like the other highway categories. So if you've posted anything to the other highway categories, this one should be quite familiar.

I'm hoping my three fellow officers and I aren't the only ones who see it this way.

Thanks and please vote yea this time around.

    later,

    Team Farkle 7
