    Uploading images

I have gotten a new addiction this summer of waymarking Smile  But, I am having a big problem with uploading images.  It is taking me anywhere from 3 to 10 tries to get the picture uploaded.  When I hit the upload button it takes about 2-3 minutes to do nothing and then gives me back the upload page with the "You are not required" paragraph repeated at the top and no photo.  Like I said I can get this paragraph on a page like 10 times before the photo actually gets uploaded.  Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?  At this rate it is taking me nearly 30 minutes to get one visit or post completed.  If I was not so addicted I would have given up by now.  I have never had any problems with uploading images to Geocaching. com  -- Any suggestions?

    Re: Uploading images

There is a problem uploading large photos to the site.  It is supposed to resize them for you but it seems to have problems.  Try resizing your photos before uploading. I resize to 800 X 600 or 600 X 800 depending on orientation.   I seldom have a problem uploading and often upload 50 or more a day.

If you use XP you might try the xp add-on from Microsoft.  It is quick and easy.  Down load image resizer  from Microsoft.

Thanks, I will certainly try resizing.  I do have XP so I can try that as well.

    Re: Uploading images

I resize the digital photos 640 x 480 pixels jpg before uploading.  However I do not resize print photos that I have scanned.
