    Tridges / 3-or-more-way bridges

I'm kind of surprised with all of the bridge categories that there isn't one for tridges (3-way bridge).  I suppose such a category could cover bridges with more than three legs as well, if there is such a thing.  Comments?

Without doing some research, my first concern would be whther this is prevalent enough.

Yeah, I don't know the answer to that.  I know of two within 100 miles of here -- this one and the one visible here -- but for all I know, that's all there are.

They're most likely all pedestrian bridges, so I guess they should just go there.

I see them from time to time. They seem to attract geocaches, for some strange reason.

I think I also did a geocache on a bridge in Eau Claire that I think was a tridge http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=cdffb0b5-633b-44c3-942a-0c8e37d39569

I like the idea, would obviously need to ensure that onramps wouldn't be included. Given that the first picture was basically a bridge under a bridge that brings up the question if that sort of thing is allowed. The main reason I ask is because I know larger cities have that quite frequently (Milwaukee in particular seems rather bad at these types of bridges over bridges thing, moreso I think than its neighbor Chicago which is far bigger, is odd).

I think prevalence would be a problem.  Just doing search on the net using different search words yields the same 5 or 6 bridges.

That one does go under another bridge, but it is itself a three-way bridge (satellite shot here).

I don't think I'll pursue this.  Via Google, it does seem like prevalence is a problem.  On the other hand, the above makes three within 100 miles of me.  They may just not be a Google-able object.  Or maybe it's just a Michigan thing.

Ahh thanks for the satellite. I really do like this idea though yeah it may not be incredibly prevalent... still is cool, if you could find more examples from elsewhere I think this is great. I also think you almost need to require the satellite image of it to get the impact of it, but that isn't hard to do. I have a feeling there are far more footpaths than real highways that do this.

Are you saying people in Michigan don't know what direction they want to go? Big Smile

Most Michiganders are trolls (they live below the bridge), so I expect we put a little more effort into making sure our bridges are interesting.

Yeah, probably not enough of these to sustain a category.  There is a very famous one in Zanesville, Ohio.  Described a s the Y bridge, if this is what you mean.  I seemed to miss it everytime I was in the area, though.
