    Cannot Post Waymarks

    Hi.

Is anyone else having problems posting Waymarks. I thought it was something on my end, but it has been 3 days now and I cannot post any new Waymarks.

I can load all the information on the Post new waymark page, but after filling in all varibles, etc.. and click next to go the the Picture upload page, it gives me an error page, asking to either retry (which does not work) or fill in what I was doing when I got error page.

I have cleared all the cache, browser memory, etc... from my computer, I rebooted, but it still is acting up.

Is there anything else I can try or do???

Appears like anyhting else I do on Waymarking works OK

    Thanks

PS I also have tried with IE and Firefox browsers.

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

I am also having the exact same problem.  I have tried to post new waymarks in 2 different categories.  Fire Equipment and Salvation Army.  Get the same problem in both.  Get all of the info. done on the info page and when I try to procede to the pics page I get the dreaded error page.  This has been going on for me since right after the waymarking site went down earliere this week.  I have tried posting 6 times now.  3 different computers on the 2 different servers. Still get the same error.

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

Just tried to post 3 more new waymarks.  Still getting the same Error - Retry.  Beginning to hate that page.  This is now 5 waymarks in 4 different categories.  Anyone out there having the same problem that we are.

I first encountered this about 1630 Eastern yesterday; at 0530 this morning, it is still happening.

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

    Hi

Since my original post, I have noticed that if I fill in all information EXCEPT anyhting in the long description it will go to the picture upload page. Then I uploaded pics, went to the preview waymark page and clicked the EDIT tab, and then added my long description, and it seems to work that way. After I did a few, I tried it the "normal" way, and was still getting the message. It is an extra step, but it seems to work that way for me now, and I hope maybe that info helps.

    Thanks again

Groundspeak has been notified of this problem.  I can confirm mtekk77's method works.  I had one error as described, hit back button, copied the long description text, deleted text and then was able to save and continue.  I was then able to go back to the Enter Information tab and paste the long description in. (Note it is better to leave the long description blank to begin with because when it errors it clears the coordinates and state so they have to be reentered.)

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

I will try my best to have this bug fix added in with Monday morning's hotfix.

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

Will try your method.  It is getting a little spooky not seeing new waymarks to be Reviewed.  For some reason I just got promoted in another group so now with 10 groups feeding me for Review I should have at least 5 a day. Hope to see some new waymarks soon.

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

I haven't been out to waymarking.com to try to post anything for a few days (life gets in the way sometimes).

I just tried to hit the Add a New Waymark and I get Service Unavailable.
I hit Back and tried again and I get errors.

I hope you guys are working on Sunday, and some problem hasn't gotten worse...

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

After I read all the messages on the forums that I hadn't read, and responded to a few, I tried again.

Just to be safe, I used mtekk's workaround, but I had no problems posting.

So if any of you worked on Sunday, Thanks!

    Re: Cannot Post Waymarks

Sean is taking the site down for a quick hotfix. We think we have this problem licked.

It seemed to be working as good as I've ever seen it at about 18:30 CDT.
    Thanks!!!
