    Every find one of these?

Got me what it means. I'm finding a few pics to other markers but no meaning behind the letters yet. Swizzle

I think it is a fraternal organization called the Improved Order of the Redmen.

Here is another site with photos.

And the Wiki article about them.

Edit to add that this site has similar markers and defines TOTE as possibly meaning  "The Order of The Eagle.

Would this be something worth waymarking or is it even waymarkable? I just thought it was cool and I only found the three sites and the just had the same thing I had typed in the search bar. Thanx for the links. Swizzle

There are several 'fraternal organization' categories, Eagles, Moose, Masons, Odd Fellows, and maybe others. Look and see how successful they are before starting another.

Maybe it would be worthwhile to start an all others fraternal organizations.

Maybe, Its not anything I'm interested in starting but I'm sure there must be some interest out there. If anyone else wants to try to run with this idea or any of my other category ideas then go nuts. Maybe I'll be the first to post in your new category.

I was checking out the links. I think its a pretty cool looking fraternaty. To bad there numbers have dropped so dramatically over the last 80 years. Swizzle

i have been seeing a lot of the DAR 'stars' lately.

problem with these is that some dont hold up in the weather too well, then theres the one that the mower guy seems to hit every time he passes.....

Maybe these should get waymarked then. It might be a long time before a new marker is put up. We might even be able to work with D.A.R. to locate and document all of these locations so they have a GPS based site to help future generations of D.A.R. to find and replace markers. Swizzle

First time I heard of this organization was last Saturday when planning a few locations stop by while traveling on Sunday.  One of the locations was a former Improved Order of the Redmen lodge/hall.  I will be adding it in the NRHP Contributing Buildings category.
