Why are unsubmitted 'Waymarks' displayed to everyone?

I had just checked on one "Officer" that had not signed in and clicked on his "Newest Waymarks" and found that about 10 of them were on hold and had not been submitted as they seemed to be still in need of more information. (pictures/co-ordinates)

Why are these being made public as a lot of times personal notes or comments might be for the "Submitter" only until being submitted/published?

Secondly... One could check out a Waymarker in his/her area and "steal" Crying their idea and information and submit it themselves.

(Just found some had "Denied"  Waymarks also on the list)

Wow!  I agree with Jake39 on this one.  I had not now this but I can do the same.  This should not be!

Unapproved  and declined waymarks are also showing in the RSS feeds.

    Waymark access by others

One other item that I was not aware of until to-day,  is that now the "Category Officers" can change/alter/add/delete any "Waymark" in their respective 'Category" Angry and 'lock it out' to the "Waymark Owner" too.

This can also lead to abuse of privileges.

(Suppose now we don't have to send any back for wording/spelling mistakes etc.)

I guess we will now have to be very careful with our selection of "Officers"Zip it!

    Re: Waymark access by others

You can only edit it if the Category Leader gives you permission.  This makes it easier to fix broken links and typos, but it is scary.  I can only assume that it should be used very very sparingly.  Of course, if the long description was just lifted from somewhere else it does seem very tempting.

I didn't realize this was happening.  I will fix it today.  Hopefully by the end of the day...

    Thanks for pointing it out!

Ok, this is now fixed.  The newest waymarks link (the rss feed for various users) no longer displays declined nor saved, but not approved waymarks.

I'd log a visit on that waymark. It would likely fit in one of the sculpture or public art categories.  Or we could make a Wikipedia article out of her.

To Blue Quasar:  Look at the above two images in waymarking terms.  Think of the "Photos Then And Now" category.  Live single, be strong.
