Local newspaper article that may be of interest to some of us "evil do-ers"...

Hello everyone...I know that the article that I am going to supply a link to in this post doesn't actually apply to Waymarking as such, but I know that a good portion of us are also active Geocachers and a portion of that group may also be Letterboxers as well.

This article is in regards to local cemeteries banning "treasure hunting games" from their properties, specifically mentioning Letterboxing. They seem to think that these "games" could cause players to resort to vandalism while there. Typical "non-participant" opinion, if you ask me....

So, that is why I thought it was worth the time to mention it here, as well as putting in into the Geocaching forum.

This article was in today's (10-21-09) local newspaper. I pulled the article up on the online version and am supplying a link to it here: newspaper article

    Thanks for reading........PTCrazy.

yes, cemetery caches/waymarks are some of my favs.

and that nonparticipant opinion is the standard. i would balme it more on the cachers than the waymarkers [;D]. but even thats a stretch--the real cuplrit really has nothing to do with either do they?

a similar strand to this is the NPS. they banned caches long ago, but since we take only pictures (leave only footprints), its kind of hard to make us look bad, IMO. i know many of us 'pros' have avoided posting sensitive areas.
