and as someone else posted, when there are 'more than 5' pics in the gallery, can the waymark not have more than 5 displayed--as a key indicator that the gallery is 'large'......what about 10, 15, 20? how many is too many?
I would
strongly support such a feature (and may have mentioned it before).
I'm sure the concern is load time, but I think that for the smaller percentage of waymarks with over five images in the gallery, that it would be a small price to be paid. I think another row of five would be reasonable.
Of course we need to keep in mind that photos from visits are added to the single gallery. In some ways this is nice, and in some ways not. There seems to be no way to tell which ones belong to the original waymark and which ones are part of a visit. Sometimes that makes it look as if the waymark author submitted crappy photos! It would be nice if there were some sort of marker to label a photo as Visit Photo, or Added, or somethingl
At the very least, there should be something to indicate that there are more photos in the gallery! Few people will click on the gallery to see if there are more. As a reviewer, I try to do this, but sometimes miss it, and other times feel I've taken the extra step for nothing, since five is all there is - no way to tell. Somewhere, somehow there should be an indicator to show how many photos are in the gallery, or at least a light, icon, or something to indicate that there are more.
There are other long-standing issues with the gallery, though, such as the inability to edit labels and captions, and this one - inability to specify order. It is hard to plan, and there seems to be no convenient way of changing display order.
