Co-ords, North West or South East

I am having problems with every waymark I write up for a new waymark.  I am in New Zealand which the co-cods are South and East.  Each time I change the co-ords to S and E and the carry on writing up the page  before moving on to load photos and then to the end.  When  view the waymark the co-ords have gone back to North and West and will NOT let me change it back to S and E as it should be.  I am having to ask the reveiwer to change them for me or they will not be released to view.
Why is this happining to the co-ords and what else can I do to fix the problem please.

This problem was reported in this thread earlier today.  Try clearing your browser cache. And if that does not fix then try cookies.

I have submitted problem to Groundspeak.

Where the problem is has been identified.  Bootron (from Groundspeak)  is working on a resolution at this time.

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

This problem should now be fixed. We have been attempting to migrate the site to a 64 bit server, and have discovered that a older ajax-related component that we have been using is not compatible with the new environment. So we have temporarily returned to the old server and will be removing the references to this antiquated component next week.

Thanks for bringing this issue to light.

I have not been able to recreate this error however if the only thing you change on a save is to change the N to S or W to E the site does not detect a change and will give an error that no changes have been made.  If you get this error it does not save.  Just make the change to the coordinate hemispheres and make some other minor change and it will save.

yea, but this whole 'you did not make any changes' is a little irritating.

    did i?
    didnt i?
    did you?

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

Yes, I found out that you need to add some other change as well.
When I am doing a new waymark I do the first page (co-ords correct S- E ) , then go and add photos , then go to the third page to submit,  all is correct,  If I press edit and go back to make a change the co-ords will change back to N-W again.  This does not happen each time but about 70% of the time.   Why??

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

One other problem I have just found.  All my waymarks are in New Zealand which is S-E co-ords.  Today when I list my old waymarks and then entry them some of them have change back to N-W,    3 have done this today but were correct last time I looked at them and were approved.   Why??

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

There was a problem with this a couple of weeks ago and if they were submitted during that time it may explain the problem.   I will direct Bootron to this tread and have him take a look.

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

For the last week this problem has changed the S to N and E to W for every waymark I have listed ( over 30) in New Zealand which is S and E..   It is a waste of time to have go back and edit each page each time .  If its not sorted I amd thinking of stopping waymarking ,

It is unfortunate that this bugs has occurred. Please be patient as new code takes a little while to write and roll out. It also takes time to figure out what has caused the bug, especially if the cause is connected to what might seem not directly related.

We have this happen at where I work, it happens at Microsoft... it happens here too. And fixes do come, it just might take some time.

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

I have just submitted waymark  WM8BB9.  It needs waypoint co-ords on the trail of Picture Locations 1 to 3.  Each time I enter them as South and East (New Zealand) , then move to the page to add photo, then submit.  On the submit page they have changed back to North and West,   I have editted them 3 times and added more info to page but it will not let me save the co-ords back to South or East.  The main co-ords are correct as S and E.  I have had to submit the waymark with wrong co-ords and have asked the reviewer to fix.
What else can I do.?????   The problem is not at my end.

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

willbuild, just out of curiosity, can you make both of your coordinates negative and submit them?

Especially if you change the format over to decimal degrees instead of the default of degrees-decimal minutes?

Just a thought for you to get accurate info input NOW.

    How frustrating this must be.

Since the problem appears to be getting worse instead of better I wonder if this means they are attempting a fix.

I declined a listing last week that had the waymark in the water. It came back and it was still in the water. Then I remembered this thread. Approved the mark and went in and fixed the problem. Yep, the E W had slipped back to the default moving the intended waymark a wee bit off its axis.

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

I can get the main co-ords to stay as S and E after doing a edit . If the waymark needs more co-ords for parking etc, it  is NOT possible to get them to stay as S and E.  I have submitted a few over the last few day and have asked the person who reviews it if they can change them for me

Thanks for the additional information that it is mainly the other coordinate boxes not working rather than the main coordinates.  Are the main coordinates now saving correctly or do you have so do multiple saves to get them to correct?

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

Submitted 5 way marks yesterday, 10th  only once had to go back and do a edit.   The Main co-ords are OK  but if I add more co-ords for parking etc I can NOT get it to work.
PTZRAZY  approved  WM8C1D  Athenree Railway Station  last night but the 2nd set of co-ords are still wrong.  The MAIN co-ords are correct.    PTZRAZY change the 2nd set 5 times but could not get them to work.  Thanks PTZRAZY for your help.     I have more waymarks waiting approval with the same problem with the 2nd set of co-ords.
    Thanks for your help.

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

Just so everyone knows, I thought that perhaps after the waymark had been in the system awhile after approval, it would allow the necc. change of the "original" coords., however, I just tried it again, a full day later, and it still defaults back to N and W. I'm sure a fix is on the way though...

Re: Co-ords, North West or South East

i thought it was fixed, but i have 2 experiences:

first i entered coords and just 'blah' in all required areas....clicked save....went back and filled the waymark out.....S & E remained.

second, i just filled out the form as i went down the page, when i saved, the coords were back to N & W.

so it relates to the coords resetting on a time out? i have only had them reset to '0' once....but i have been using the aforementioned 'blah' method.
