How to download a list of waymarkings instead of download one by one

    Hi

I'm just wondering that is it possible for me to download all my search results instead of download one by one?

    Hello there.

Hopefully this image will help you out.

    Bulk Download using GPX Lite

After you get the page downloaded, you can go to the next page and repeat this same process.

    Cool BQ

    Hi blue quasar

    Thank you for your help.

Can I download all the search results, instead of download one page by one page?

    Cheers

It is restricted to one page at a time.

Being fairly new to waymarking I wonder if I can get something like PQs?

This light gpx file download from the page is without descriptions and I'd rather have the description in GSAK. So I have to manually download each waymark, which isn't really that bad in our area, as there are not many of them.
But for a holiday it would be nice, to have a PQ of sorts.

Currently there is not the capability the same as a PQ.  If you want the complete description you have to download from waymark page.  It is time consuming but can be done.  One thing about waymarks once you download them not many get archived, get changed or go missing.

yes, but you can still visit archived ones if you know the 'code', correct?

what does changing have to do with this?

and i have had several of my own 'just disappear'....whats up with that? where do they go? into a secert reserve (with posted comments) never to see the light of day?

a prime example: when we first moved here, there is a large watertower/benchmark/mural.....
the GC BM listing has me visiting when we first moved here, and i find it hard to believe that i DID NOT post it as a BM. it has since been reposted, but still, where did the others go?

but the thing about missing items, they usually turn up. not the case with missing waymarks. once theyre gone, youll never see them again (ie: archived waymarks prior to them still beng displayed in 'my waymarks', where did they go? is there no record of them?)

additionally, how many threads have 'PQ' or 'download more than 1 page' as the subject? if only we had sticky threads/ a good FAQ.....

    Sorry for asking....
I saw this thread, but it didn't really answer my question.

I wonder, why it isn't possible to get PQs, I wouldn't need them every week, just now and then. When going on holiday, to get waymarks of those areas would be nice.

The short answer to why there is not PQ for waymarking is that they have not been developed yet.  But to explain further, when Waymarking started most of the effort was to establish new waymarks rather than visiting existing one.  The desires of the community were for ways to create and manage waymarks thus the effort for groups and category management.  It is only recently that the desire PQ like downloads has become more asked for (not saying it was not asked for before just not as persistently)  Geocaching did not have pocket queries for a few years in its beginning and some of us were able to find thousands just fine without them.  The criteria for downloading Waymarks can be more complex than the criteria in a geocache pocket query thus the development of a Waymarking PQ-like down loading will be more complex.  I know that Groundspeak has seen the desire expressed for improved downloading for waymarks.

If the person who posted the waymark has a fit about how people are visiting her waymarks, then they can delete the entire waymark. This happened to me on vacation, I visited several site in the area and the category said, "no photo needed". However this person decided it was needed and kept deleting my visits. I contacted the reviewer and he told her to knock it off. She did just that; she knocked everyone of her fountains off of the category. Now what? The reviewer said , I could post them as new waymarks. I only had the information for a couple of them.

    How's that for an answer?

Re: How to download a list of waymarkings instead of download one by one

Rather than keeping a list of all waymarks in an area, I usually go to A waymark in the city, and click the find nearest and page through.

As I page through I make a mental note of ones that interest me. As I enjoy my normal vacation, I keep an eye out for waymarks that caught my eye and take pictures.

Waymarking is different than geocaching in that after looking at the waymark page, you KNOW what you are looking for. It's much easier, and you can focus on what interests you and pass up what doesn't.

Seeing you didn't have photos you wouldn't be able to submit the fountains as new waymark.... new waymarks require a photo.  The waymark does "belong" to the submitter, if they decide they want to remove them they can... you can remove a cache... why shouldn't a person that creates a waymark not be able to remove them.

Re: How to download a list of waymarkings instead of download one by one

because the 'rules' for fountains, set by the category, not the owner, say you do not need a pic.....

    you have to play fair.....

want to be a stickler for th rules? then you have to follow them.....i know ive wanted to delete some 'suspect logs', but the category says no pic needed, so theres nothing i can do....

and in this case, thats why i always take pics...so you can 'repost' if need be...

In general I agree that the group sets the visit requirements for their category however knowing where these fountains are I am quite sure the waymark owner specified their visit requirements on the waymark page and these waymarks were approved with those requirements specified.  I personally do not like additional logging requirements and have declined waymarks with them only to have others including group leaders come back and say they should be approved with them.  Once the waymarks were approved  with the requirements the group should not come back and tell the the owner they can't enforce them... once the group does that the owner choices were either comply with the group's wishes or to remove the waymarks.... they chose remove their waymarks.

I have been WMKing for about a year. I also do some research if I know I will be passing thru an area. For me when I am out and about with the family it helps me kill time when the wife and daughters are shopping. So I try and keep a handful of categories in the back of my mind and if I see something that might match I'll stop and document it and try to post it when I get home.

I also have a couple of favorites I am always looking for, like graves of Metal of Honor recipients, Woodman of the World Graves, Highway markers, dated buildings and photos then and now. Just recently I picked up on “Where’s In A Name”

I open them in MapSource and then resave as a .gpx file. I then use notebook to merge as many WMKs as I want into one file, which I then use to load into my 60CS,

Here is the actual WMK data from a light download. Seems like a pretty good description to me.
