    Category Grid

I see in my profile that I have a category grid and everytime I visit a waymark it gets listed as being in one of the squares on the grid. At the right hand side it totals all the waymarks in the row together and at the bottom it totals all the waymarks in each column. Do the different rows and columns specifiy different categories or designations of some sort.

For example, at first I was thinking that all the squares in column 'm' (or whatever) were all restaurants. As I log waymarks, the squares don't seem to fall in to any pattern though. Is there a pattern to them or is all just random.

The grid is arranged by when a category was created.  You will see that at certain times different types of categories were more prevalent in their creation.  If you hold your cursor over a grid square it will show the category name, if you click on the square it will go to the category and show which waymarks you have visited in the category.

If you click on an icon, it shows you your postings and visits in that category.

right, but if i wanted my posts/visits, i would go to that tab....

if im on the grid and i see an icon i dont have, i want to open it and see all waymarks, then maybe search for the nearest one, that i might go get it....

or in the case of scrapbooks, i would immediately see there are no marks posted...

So, if you could change the name in the username to spaces to see all postings in all grids, it would be valuable to you.

What you want requires one more click.  When the page opens click the link "clear all filters"

I don't think you can see the icons in the grid layout as uncleared filters, can you? It seems to require a waymarker name.

On the top of the grid page will have a waymarker's name (usually your own).   Once you click on a grid square it will open the category page and show those waymarks that have been visited by waymarker shown on the grid page (or submitted depending on what was being displayed in the grid).   If you want to see all the waymarks in the category, you click the "clear all filters" on the category page.  (unfortunately that link only shows if there are no waymarks displayed, if there are waymark displayed you have to clear the filter manually by clicking the filter +, removing the criteria and clicking update)

    Re: Category Grid

yes, couldnt there be a button near the '+' that would clear the filter without having to expand the box?

what about having the coords displayed there, so i could just change them and update the search as well....

and if we are getting into searches....lest go to the NRHP.....move the map around some, and click search from map center.....why cant this just search from my last criteria (only show nearset NRHP, my waymarks, or whatever the page was i was looking at the map on....), not just result in all nearest marks.....
