    Downloading Co-ordinates

Hello all, I am fairly new to Waymarking, having discovered it through Geocaching.  I use a Garmin E-Trex but do not know if there is an easier way of entering Waymarking co-ordinates than manually.  Is it possible to download them in the same way I can upload them when Geocaching.  Beware I am a total computing Luddite !

    Great!

I'll let someone else describe the steps they download for an e-trex.  I don't have any Garmins.

To save directly onto the computer though, there are two ways of doing it.

For an individual waymark, there .kml, .loc, and .gpx links under the waymark photo.

For bulk waymarks, when you are in the Search Results Page there is a check box on the left of the waymark.  Click the waymarks you want and at the bottom of the page there are links for the .kml, .loc, and .gpx formats.  Also at the bottom is a "Check All" box if you are interested in all of them.

Presumably you save the files to you computer and then upload them to the GPS - at least that is what I would do.

    Re: Downloading Co-ordinates

I think that you would need to use GSAK software (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) to get coordinates into your Etrex.

But my real answer would be, your really don't need to use a GPS to find a waymark. Most waymarks are easily visible things that you can find by getting yourself to the rough area.

When I am going on a trip, I will look at waymarks in that area online, and when I pass somthing waymarked in my travels I will grab a picture.

Thanks for the info. i will try and understand it. I agree that on familiar territory I do not need co-ordinates but I have an amazing ability to get lost in unfamiliar territory!

    Re: Downloading Co-ordinates

I have download the GPX files into my GPX folder and the Montanta picks up the location of the Waymark, but I don't get any of the discription to read what the Waymark is or what to do when I get there.

    Please help.
