Would You Like to Waymark Your Own Location

You know what's funny....there is no place to put one's OWN Lat and Long in the User Profile. Seems like it would be a natural to allow folks to store their own Lat/Log in their Profile and allow a search of fellow Waymarkers/Geocachers in one's area. Of course with the accuracy of GPS is it as good as giving away your address :).

You could create a waymark in the Bloggers category and/or the waymark sticker seekers category...and use your own coordinates if you'd like...

    Just sayin'.

Chris777 created an online map for waymarkers' locations.  You can zoom in and plunk yourself down on the map.  Kind of fun to see where the other folks are waymarking.  I've put a link for it on my blog and Website and others have links to it, so hopefully it will start to fill up.  Be sure to go add yourself. Smile

"Geocaching Tour Guides" is another category that lends itself nicely to the use of one's home coordinates, and for seeking out people in other areas.  On my waymark in that category, I use a 1000 foot fudge factor, for privacy reasons.

Lep's suggestion for "Geocaching Guides" is a good one, although not everyone that Waymarks is a Geocacher.  My "Waymarking Sticker Seekers" also works but does have a cost prohibitive nature to it (the shipping for a sticker can be $8... buy more stuff to make it worthwhile LOL).  The Blog thing works too if you are able to make a Blog (I have no interest).

I too use an offset to the nearby coffee/doughnut store for the time I might actually meet a Waymarker.  Unlikely I would ever post my house.

Even still, searching for any Waymarks normally should yeild a list of others that live in the general area and from there you can email them.  That reminds me... haven't checked my Waymarking Inbox for a long time (oops)
