I couldn't help making a post here. After spending several days trying to get into the new PORTAL system, the problem was finally resolved. Groundspeak performed an Ampersand-ectomy on my name, "8Nuts&MotherGoose" and removed the "&". That was the problem. I then received an email that said that it was completed. They also said that it was the FIRST name change that had been done.

If I make a sign and take a photo, can I claim this FIRST as a waymark? Do I post the coord for Groundspeak or for my computer?

Recently I went back through my existing waymarking submissions and cross-listed everything that also fit into the FIRST of its kind category.  It was a fun trip through my list of waymarks, and my photo directory.  It brought home to me just how many firsts my city can claim.  Also, Blue Quasar has to submit a worker's compensation claim for hyperextending his mouse finger because of how many times he had to click the "approve waymark" button.  His amusing messages made submitting in this category very fun!

Also I had my FIRST visit to one of my FIRST of its Kind waymarks.  A college student from a geocaching family on the other side of the state has moved to Pittsburgh, and is visiting some of my waymarks to learn the way around town.  The nice log was for the FIRST public television station, WQED, which began broadcasting in the 1950's.  It is best known as the home of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.  I think getting a "visit" log like this is one of the reasons why I'm enjoying waymarking.

Don't be telling people that I actually take the time to write humourous "Approval" messages!  I'll never get any rest LOL.

What Lep did by going through his existing Waymarks is something I've been planning to do as well.  I have many plaques that are the FIRST of something or other.

And of course, I enjoy the fact that FIRST is in FIRST place in Memorials/Monuments heading.

I have no idea when this new forum system went on line, and I'm on the forums everyday!  Is there a tutorial or some other documentation on how they work somewhere?  My avatar isn't showing either.

And does this mean I've got to check a dozen plus forums now for each of my groups and categories that I'm involved in to find out if there are new messages?  I'm willing to give it a chance, but it seems very cumbesome.

Are these tied to the regular forums, or are they an entirely differenct?  Tried to enable my avatar, email notification, etc.  Help file not much help.  Oh, well, guess I'll work on my back log of waymarks . . .

As for the Old Forums vs. these New Forums... both exist, but rumour has it that the old three will be migrating here.

I glance at the old ones, but spend all my free time here.  This is home to me now.  And yes, there is a list of renovations too LOL
