    Repeated Posts Repeated Posts

Seems like there is a hiccup in the system of late.  I see that Hikenutty has a duplicate post in "Getting Started with Waymarking - Statues" last night.  Today I had that happen in "Recruiting and Category Proposals - Need Officers to Create New Group".

I have a theory - as the waymarking forum site is slow, people hit the "POST" button more than once while waiting for the post to 'take'.  Could that be it?

    YEPPEr....
If you hit refresh after, not POST ,You will fare better.
Or if you hit post and then go back to the forum.

    Re: Repeated Posts Repeated Posts

I'll admit it, I'm one of those impatient multi-posters.  Usually what happens to me is that I'll hit "Post" and then...nothing seems to happen.  So I'll copy my text and click on the topic again to see if my post is there, and it's usually not.  So I'll refresh that page, and it's still usually not there.  So I'll go to post again.  Paste my text back in and hit "Post".  At this point, I usually end up actually getting it to work and realizing that it's posted twice, or end up doing it all over agian.

It's quite frustrating really.  And I'm trying to check before posting again to make sure that I don't do it.

It seems to me to be a problem with the slowness of the forums...and my level of patience with that.

I too am impatient, yram.  On slow forum days this is what I do:  click on post.  Wash dishes.  Read post, reply and hit send.  Open another window and write the report I need to do for work.  Check on forum but it's still loading.  Walk the dog.... and so on. Smile  Okay, I exaggerate.  But I did do the dishes today while waiting for a post to open up.  Tonight it seems to be quite speedy though.  Groundspeak fed the server some Wheaties or something.

I see I am not the only one with that problem, problem, in the past.  Wink

Tried to immediately delete the duplicate but wouldn't let me, so I just edited out the text and added "Duplicate Post'
Just this morning I had 2 - "Server Not Found"   Crying
(of course being on slower than snail speed - dial up doesn't help either) Just impossible to load photos @ 9.6kbps)

it WOULD be nice to be able to delete the duplicates instead of just editing

It seems that sometimes the actual message does get sent and received on Community Server, but for some reason the confirmation does not return to our end user workstations.  I'm not with Groundspeak or anything like that, but this is very much like how a fax works.  Without a close or confirmation, the screen does not refresh.  It's kinda like if you are waiting for the person on the other end of the phone to say 'good bye' but they don't or they just hang up... so you call again and say the same stuff.
