Fivermont-
I am also unable to recreate your error in the Weird Story Locations category. Are you able to take a definitive set of steps that makes this error happen? It would be helpful if you posted the details of what you were trying to post, so I can track down the error.
Thanks,
bootron

A few years ago someone created a facebook app to help you display your waymarking stats on your facebook profile. For some time this app has been broken (and it is generally not being fully supported by anyone right now). However, I figured out what was wrong with it and made a minor change so that it would function again. If anyone is interested ...

The date problem should be fixed now. You still won't be able to enter 01/01/2009, but it will behave properly when you enter 1/1/2009 now.

TheBeanTeam:Why are the Waymarking emails coming from Waymarking [noreply@geocaching.com] instead of Waymarking.com [noreply@waymarking.com] like they used to? Is this by design or a byproduct of the email problems introduced with the site update? And, by the way, thanks for the responses.
This should be fixed now.

0ccam:Do I have to put something in each of the Reason fields for a new waymark? I put ''new post'' in each one just now, but I can picture that getting old. Could you default it to say ''New Post'' if that's what's happening? Low priority request. No, the reason fields should not pop up on new waymark submissions. Edits by ...

saopaulo1:I got my emails, but they stopped after my Groundspeak Update. Now I checked my queue and there were new waymarks I didn't get notifications for.
I accidentally introduced the email problem back into the mix when I pushed the hotfix. Was in too much of a hurry I guess. It should be fixed now. Sorry.

silverquill:Okay, I did a very minor edit to a waymark I had just approved, and they were accepted as before. I did NOT put anything in the ''reason'' field. I also edited a variable field, whch does NOT ask for a reason. So, If I understand correctly, waymark ''creators'' can edit their own waymarks, and category officers can edit ...

silverquill:The waymarks seem to be randomly placed - not by submission date, not grouped by category (which is the previous way). I guess I prefer having them grouped by category because that makes it easier to review similar waymarks together. There might be some rationale for grouping by date, but that seems not to be the ...

We had a bug with our email server that has now been fixed. You should be receiving emails from this point forward.
Sorry about the inconvenience.

We are still working on the updates. The points system is on hold for now. The ''marks'' (orphans) functionality and the ability to edit variable answers will be released in a week or two. Advanced search will be included in this release as well, along with many minor bug fixes.

This large image has been removed and reverted to the parent category's icon for now. We will assign Koko the task of creating a properly-sized icon.

Would you be so kind as to provide the name of the waymark and also the category that it was posted in?

Bruce, even though the year requirement was required for you, there presently is still no guarantee that the data the person provided would meet your category requirement. If they typed 2007 as the construction year it would pass the required test, but still wouldn't qualify. No matter what, you will still have to check over that variable

Your category should now be accessible. We believe we have fixed the problem that sent categories into this unusable state, but hadn't found all the categories that had been corrupted until now. I'm pretty sure they are all cleaned up now. If you find out otherwise, please keep us posted.
Thanks,

In all reality there isn't much new in this update. Most of the things that you all mentioned are minor fixes that have been taken care of in this past month. We did some significant work on the account creation/premium member signup process, and have been working on the orphan waymarks concept as well (it's not available yet).
The next ...

Not sure when exactly this change took place, but the proximity check is now .5 miles, so your .7 mile away Tim Hortons wouldn't register with the new setting.
